Founded by certified tea sommeliers Joyce Ding and Raphael Chow, brut tea is on a mission to redefine the way we drink and appreciate tea.

Our matcha spans different terroirs and is loved by consumers for its vibrant colour and smooth, balanced taste.
Our single origin teas come directly from family-run farms in Southwestern China – known as the birthplace of tea.
We source all tea and matcha directly ourselves.

We’ve built up a small but close network of tea farms and producers.
We insist on sourcing every product ourselves. No third-parties, no middlemen. This allows us to be very selective with the aroma and flavours we want to represent in our matcha range, whilst safeguarding supply.

Our sourcing criteria:
- Proper farming techniques: We only work with farms who use proper shading techniques, achieving the level of umami and balance required for our matcha.
- State of the art production facilities: To guarantee consistent quality and stable supply, we’ve inspected our producers’ premises to ensure they are using state of the art facilities to steam, dry, cut and grind tea leaves into matcha powder.
- Ethical practices: Supporting local farming communities is deeply meaningful to us. We work with producers who pay farmers fairly and make technological investments to uplift communities.
